I just got back from a fabulous weekend in New York City visiting two friends both named Amy. While I am dead tired & my feet refuse to talk to me, my trip was incredible & packed with so many fun things! I wrote down every touristy thing I had to do while I was there, despite the fact that I hate looking like a tourist, & managed to do almost everything! (I am a traveler, not a tourist.) I only took about 700 photos, but I graciously narrowed them down. Just because I’m worn out doesn’t mean I need to wear you out too.

ON OUR WAY TO SEE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!!!!!! Oh my goodness, I was so excited! I had never seen the play, but I knew all the songs, could act out the entire movie & I’ve read the book. Here’s a little story for you: My grandmother taped (yes, taped like on a VHS) a circus show that came on TV when I was really little. It became one of two movies my siblings & I had to watch when we went to visit them. The Circus Tape & Mary Poppins. All three of us loved a certain act in that circus called Statues Come to Life. It consisted of two guys & a girl painted gold doing these amazing lifts & stunts in slow motion on a little rotating platform. It wowed us all & my sister & I even tried doing part of one of the lift, which we somewhat succeeded! I had always loved the song they performed to, but never knew what it was. I was 17 when the movie The Phantom of the Opera came out, & when Gerard Butler started singing Music of the Night, I couldn’t help but start crying because that was the same song the circus people did their act to! I had no idea!!! To this day it is my favorite song.

Getting ready for the opening act!

Time for Act two!!
